Derbyshire

On the 28th February 2026, Jenny & Olly will be running leg 10 of M4M, the Derbyshire leg, through the Peak District.

The route is two loops, both starting and finishing in Hathersage. The first loop is 27km and takes in some of the most iconic scenery the Peaks have to offer. We’ll start with a steep climb up to Stanage Edge (for a Pride & Prejudice moment) before cruising down through Burbage rocks and the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate. We’ll run across White Edge, Curbar Edge and Frogatt Edge before dropping into the valley in Gridleford to follow the river Derwent back to Hathersage.

The second loop is 15km. We’ll follow the river out of Hathersage to the west this time, crossing over the stepping stones, round to Shatton. After a quick pit stop to visit the emu, we’ll tackle the second big hill of the route, up onto Shatton Moor. From here, we should get great views of the Hope Valley as we loop round and cruise back into Hathersage.
